BGG Therapy Database
Something doesn’t have to be wrong for you to go to therapy. Sometimes, all you need is a safe, open space to work through your emotions. Sometimes, all you need is someone to hold that space for you without any judgment or criticism. Sometimes, therapy is what you need to become more and more aligned with who you truly are before the world happened to you.
I’ve been in therapy for 5 years and it’s been the constant anchor in my life. I go regularly, booking a session with my therapist anytime I need to talk something out, bring more awareness to a pattern or habit, or just have a safe space to share.
You’ll notice that all the therapists on this list are South Asian, and that’s because I believe that having a therapist that understands the cultural context of your experiences is incredibly important. They can help bridge gaps, bring awareness, and help us move through things that others from a different cultural background might not be able to.
I’d like to leave you all with one disclaimer. It’s okay if you don’t click with the first therapist you meet. It’s okay if you don’t click with the second or third one either. Finding the right therapist is a unique process for everyone. Some of us connect instantly with our therapist. Some of us have to have a few discovery calls before we know which one is the one. Don’t get discouraged if your journey to finding your “safe space holder” is a little bit longer than others.
Please share the BGG Therapy Database with anyone seeking support in your life xoxo
